This policy explains what happens if you change your mind about a website package, a monthly plan, or an SEO and AI-search audit from Sailboat Sites. It is part of our Terms of Service.
The short version: the earlier you cancel, the more you get back. Monthly plans can be cancelled any time.
1. Website packages (Sailboat, Yacht Club, Flagship)
Packages are paid in full up front. If you cancel, your refund depends on how far the project has gone.

Things to know:
- Refunds are based on the price you paid for the package. If you used the $99 audit credit, that is the package price minus the credit.
- Processing fees. Our payment processor, Stripe, does not return its processing fee to us when we refund a payment. If you cancel before work starts, or if we miss our delivery guarantee, we cover that fee and refund 100%. When you cancel at a later stage, we deduct the processing fee Stripe charged on your original payment from the partial refund.
- If you cancel before launch, the unfinished work stays with us. Ownership of your site passes to you when the site is delivered (see our Terms of Service). Anything you sent us, such as your logo, photos, and text, is always yours, and we will return it on request. If you cancel after the first draft, you may ask for the draft files instead of the 25% refund.
- If the project stalls on your side. If we close a project because we have not heard from you for 60 days (see our Terms of Service), the refund is whatever the table above gives for the stage the project had reached.
When you always get a full refund:
- We miss our delivery guarantee (section 4 of our Terms of Service): you get 100% of the package price back, with no processing fee taken off, and we still finish your site and hand it over to you. Monthly plans are not part of the guarantee.
- We cancel your project for any reason that is not your fault.
- We cannot deliver the package you paid for.
- Before work starts, we find that your project is one we will not build (see "What we will not build" in our Terms of Service).
2. Revisions
- Included revisions (1 with Sailboat, 1 with Yacht Club, 3 with Flagship) are part of the package price. They have no separate cash value and are not refunded if you do not use them.
- Extra revisions you bought separately ($50 each) are refunded in full if we have not started work on them and you ask within 30 days of buying them. Once we start a revision, it is not refundable.
- Included revisions expire 30 days after launch, as our Terms of Service explain.
3. Monthly plans (Maintenance and Monthly analytics report)
- Cancel any time. There is no minimum term and no cancellation fee.
- When it takes effect. Your cancellation takes effect at the end of the month you have already paid for. You keep the service until then, and you will not be charged again.
- No partial-month refunds. We do not refund part of a month, unless the law requires us to.
- If we fail to deliver. If we miss delivering your monthly analytics report for a paid month, or do not provide the maintenance work the plan promises, tell us and we will refund that month.
- When Maintenance ends. Maintenance includes hosting (see our Terms of Service). Your site stays on our hosting until the end of the month you have paid for, and we move it to your own hosting account at no charge.
- When the analytics report ends. We stop the report, and you can remove our access to your analytics accounts.
How to cancel:
- By email: write to hello@sailboatsites.com from the email address on your account. We will confirm your cancellation by email within 2 business days.
Automatic renewal. Monthly plans renew automatically every month at the price shown when you signed up, until you cancel. We will email you at least 30 days before any price change, and you can cancel before it takes effect.
4. SEO and AI-search audit ($99)
- Before we deliver your report: you can cancel for a full refund.
- If we do not deliver it within 5 business days of your purchase: you get a full refund.
- After we deliver your report: the audit is not refundable, because you have the finished work.
- The audit credit is not paid out in cash, including when you cancel a package you bought with it (see section 1).
5. How refunds are paid
- Refunds go back to the card or payment method you paid with, through Stripe.
- We will issue an approved refund within 5 business days of approving it. How soon it shows on your statement after that depends on your bank.
To ask for a refund, email hello@sailboatsites.com. Include your name, business name, and the email address you used to pay.
6. Chargebacks and payment disputes
If something is wrong, please email us first. We will work with you to fix it, and that is almost always faster than a bank dispute.
If you file a chargeback or dispute with your card issuer:
- we will respond to it and send your bank our records, such as your order, these terms, our emails with you, and the work we delivered;
- we may pause work on your project, and any monthly plan, until the dispute is resolved; and
- we do not charge you the dispute fee our payment processor charges us.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. We will post the new version on this page with a new effective date. The version in effect when you paid is the one that applies to that purchase.
